After answering the questionnaire, our dentist will meet with you to discuss your or your child’s concerns. For children, the first thing the dentist will check are the indications of decay and cavities. For adults, a thorough assessment of the teeth, gums and jaw will be performed. This includes looking at your previous dental work, such as fillings and crowns, and determining if these are unimpaired and still do their job.

The next on the list would be checking the insides of your mouth, your salivary glands and the lymph nodes. Our affable dentists will look for the source of your oral health problems. As such, he/she may require an X-ray of your mouth. Depending on the severity of your case, an oral cancer screening may also be conducted. All of these will be discussed in depth by the dentist.

Usually, your child’s first teeth appear at 6 months old. We recommend that you have them checked within 6 months after your baby’s first milestone. At an early stage, we want you and your child to feel at home in our office and foster a good relationship with our staff and dentists.

Prior to Your Appointment

The best thing you can do is to come prepared. Try not to eat directly before hand; and brush and floss hours before your appointment. If you are set for a dental procedure, our dentist will instruct you the do’s and don’ts prior to your appointment.

If you are afraid of the needles and the pain, we can give you sedatives to calm your nerves. We also offer no-shot dental procedures, so the use of needles won’t be necessary. You can discuss this with our dentist prior to any dental treatment.

After Your Appointment

After every procedure, our dentist will discuss how to properly promote good oral health. This will cover proper brushing technique, flossing, when to replace your toothbrush, your diet and a whole lot more.
Depending on your case, we may require for a follow-up appointment a week after the procedure was performed. For teeth cleaning, Aquario Dental recommends that the next cleaning be conducted after six months. Make it a habit to visit us at least twice a year. But since we all have different oral health needs, it is best to talk this over with your dentist.
